Homegrown in J-Town, 2Z discovered his deep passion for music before he could even write his own name. However, it wasn't until the age of 15, when he snuck out to a club and saw a DJ spin for the first time, that he realized his true calling. Ever since watching how the DJ simultaneously ruled the dance floor with his beats while being a slave to the people on the floor, 2Z knew that spinning was his destiny. Afterwards, he quickly put his fingers to work, practicing every spare second he got and using every penny he made towards buying new records to expand his musical library, the result of which is the trademark bboy-sexual-swaggerlike-one-of-a-kind style he has today.

Having great appreciation for a variety of genres from old school, reggae, house, electro to underground, 2Z trained himself to spin all types of music. His heart, however, belongs to hip-hop, which inspired him to undertake new training through complete immersion in the streets of hip-hop's heart, New York City. Through his many failures and successes, 2Z discovered the motivation behind his calling, a simple mantra which he still holds dear today: "One or a million." In other words, for 2Z, being a DJ isn't about the fame or the glamour. Rather, it's about serving the listeners by devoting 100% of himself to creating a living, dynamic sonicscape. Whether it's a million people in the hottest club or just one person sitting at a local bar, as long as his beats moves one's soul in the room, it is enough.
