^DJ Anna Gram

In May 2010 Anna came third in the Next Girl DJ UK finals.
When she's not busy making fancy dress costumes for small animals or stuffing beavers (she is a keen taxidermist) Anna loves nothing more than spinning tunes and dancing like a mentalist.....and eating cheese!
Growing up Anna was the only real musical one in her family and desperately wanted to learn how to play a "cool" instrument. Unfortunately at the age of 10 her parents bought her a trumpet. Being a good daughter she persevered and became pretty damn good at it. The trumpet playing eventually wore off but her love for all things music didn't. She recalls crouching over her Hitachi tape deck, putting together mix tapes and recording songs from the radio almost religiously (plus recording herself on high-speed dubbing to make herself sound like a chipmunk.....we've all done it)
Her first foray into the world of dance music came about in the mid 90's when she would naughtily sneak into over 18 nights and go to school with a hangover!
By 1997-8 she was a regular raver at Slinky @ The Opera House where world renowned DJs such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills and Laurent Garnier would entertain the masses. She became obsessed with the DJing side of things and eventually bought her first set of decks (1210 MK2s of course) in 2001.
Anna started off throwing parties for her friends and playing at various local nights across the south as her skill and confidence grew.
In 2007 she became a resident for the Portsmouth based Error and a frequent guest DJ for Punchfunk (a hugely successful night on the Southcoast and a well respected record label) at their super club events and boutique raves both in the UK and Ibiza. Her most notable gig to date was playing for Punchfunk at Hi-Tek Soul @ The Ministry of Sound, alongside Derrick May and Derrick Carter. She has also played for Filth, Obscene, Bodygroove and most recently Fiasco, along with guest slots on Pulse and Punchfunk radio. Anna has also recently guest presented the Ibiza-Groove show on Glasgow's Subcity radio.
Anna loves tunes that are dark, bleepy, uplifting and generally mind blowing!! Her style is mainly tech-house and techno but she also dabbles in house and electro as well..........as she says herself "I'll pretty much play anything that I think is awesome and will spark a reaction from the crowd!"
Things are really kicking off for Anna in 2010, future gigs include the massive Supernova at Glasgow's world famous Arches nightclub and the infamous Ibiza-Groove boat parties in Ibiza. Anna is also starting to produce her own tunes.
