^DJ Swat Squad

"Already when i was a child, music has been an important part of my life" recalls Barcelona based artist Swat Squad aka Oliver Henares. Nowadays and for more than 5 years of activity, Swat Squad has made it to become a well known figure in the international and particularly in the spanish dance music scene. His motivation to start producing dance music and to establish his own imprint Pulsewith in 2004 was based on the idea to be part of the driving force behind the Spanish electronic music scene, delighted with the result that his debut releases on Pulsewith and Regular attracted first attention.

Throughout the years he has released quite a few records on labels like Treibstoff, Trapez, his label Pulsewith and Resopal, just to name a few. Since 2005 Swat Squad has produced some remarkable records, most notably the 12" vinyl "Gecko" on Trapez that represents the younger generation of spanish producers like Swat Squad, Alex Under and I?qui Mar? and wich was praised by the international dance music press.

Another remarkable release was the "Marciano Homeless EP", a common production with spanish artist Alecs Marta that has been released in 2005 on Marcel Janovskys label Treibstoff Recordings, the dance music press appreciated it as “the most astounding dance music of the moment”. Thus made Swad Squad establish his reputation internationally and labels like Galaktika, Gastspiel, Morris Audio and Minisketch requested Swat Squad's productions.

In 2006 his former Trapez release "Escoria" was remixed by Audio Werner, Ryan Crosson and Franklin de Costa and later that year Swat Squad joined a collaboration with Davide Squillace (Ovum/Minisketch) to release the "Panik Reinterpretation EP" on Resopal. Nowadays he is up with a release for TicTacToe, various remix projects on his imprint Pulsewith and upcoming stuff for Resopal and Treibstoff.

Swat Squad express his latin roots across his music, like a refreshing journey full of intense sensations and sensual rhythms that signify a unique experience in each track. There are no stylistic boundaries for Swat Squad, his style is unique and he loves to play with most diverse styles like techno, funk, house, ethnic music, trance or dub, always well flavoured with spanish rhythms and grooves. The so called minimal definition becomes useless if micro loops, synthetic sounds and mutant melodies merge together like in Swat Squad's productions. Delightful frisky and multifaceted produced, Swat Squad succeeds in cocking the ravages of time a snook by focusing on wild freshness. Despite of the modernity of the production this toughness never throws itself on to the neck of a trespassing trend. Be prepared for Swat Squad...
