フランス在住のClement Zemtsov (beat programming)、Damien Vandesande (keyboards and horns)、Jonathan Illel (lyrics and vocals)からなる3ピース・ライヴバンド"dOP"。結成当初は、レゲエやジャズ、ファンク等の要素を取り入れたバンドとして数々のステージで演奏してきた彼らだが、エレクトロニック・ミュージックの洗礼を受けてクラブ・シーンへと足を踏み入れ、これまでのバンド活動で培った音楽性を盛り込んだ全く新しい"dOP"サウンドを作り上げることに成功する。これまでに、Circus Company、Milnor Modern、Orac、DirtyBird等の有力レーベルからユニークでオリジナリティ溢れる楽曲をリリースしているが、中でもOracより発表した"The Lighthouse EP"は、シーンに強烈な衝撃を与え、前衛的なDJ達の強力なサポートを獲得し、"dOP"の名を世界中のダンスフロアに知らしめた。黒く太いアフロビートにインプロ感溢れるジャズ・キーボードやホーンが絡み、魂を揺さぶるボーカルがフロアを熱狂の渦へと誘い込む怒涛のライヴは、耳の肥えたパーティ・フリークス達からも絶賛され、今やドイツ・イギリス・イタリア・フランス・ポーランド・デンマークなど、ヨーロッパ中のパーティ・シーンを席捲している。現在は国内外のクラブやフェスに毎週のように出演するほか、2009年秋リリースに向けて1stフルアルバムを制作中である。
dOP is the 3 piece French band which is formed of Clement Zemtsov (beat
programming), Damien Vandesande (Keyboards and horns), and Jonathan
Illel (lyrics and vocals). They started their career with performing
music of various elements like reggae, jazz, funk and etc. Once they got
christened with electronic music, Stepping into club scene, dOP
succeeded in creating avant-garde sound with their own sense built along
the way. dOP has released unique music with full of originality from
major labels like Circus Company, Milnor Modern, Orac, DirtyBird, among
which "The Lighthouse EP" from Orac shocked the scene drastically and
spread the name "dOP" all over the dance floors with huge support from
avant-garde DJs. Black and deep Afro beatJazz keyboard and horn, and
evocative vocal lead the floor into a jubilant mood, of which the wild
live has been praised by party freaks. Now dOP has been sweeping the
party scene all over the Europe like Germany, UK, Italy, France, Poland
and Denmark. These days they perform at clubs and festivals inside and
outside France every week, and they are in the production of 1st full
album to be released in autumn 2009.
