スターウォーズに啓示を受け、JB によって開眼 し、Skaville 行きの最終列車に乗りたどり着いた No.1 Station の Studio One にて Skatalites ら の音源に触発され、音楽の世界に入る決心をする。 90 年代初頭より audio active のメンバーとして キャリアをスタート、On-U Sound との交わり を通して海外でのアルバムリリース、ツアーも精 力的にこなし、好評を得る。 00 年代に入り、ソ ロとして DJ やライブ活動を開始。'08 年より Softpunkにトラックメーカーとして参加。ついに 2011 年ソロ・アルバムをリリース。

Started his musical career as a member of Audio Active in early 90s. Released their debut album in '93, followed by several releases on Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound imprint. Which have lead them to be known outside of Japan as well. They toured along with acts such as Dub Syndicate, Asian Dub Foundation and Mark Stewart, as well as toured independently in Britain, Germany, France and Australia. Masamatix made his return to the turntables as a DJ in '03, and is currently working on his solo project. In 2008, Audio Active made a come back after a long hiatus at the 10th anniversary of Rising Sun
