ドイツ、イェーナ在住のプロデューサー／DJであるRobag Wruhme。97年にMonkey Maffiaと結成したWighnomy Brothersは09年末に惜しまれつつ解散したものの、その奥深いエレクトリックサウンドと、ウォッカのボトルを片手にユーモラスなジェスチャーを繰り出すDJスタイルは今なお多くのファンを魅了している。
Wighnomy Brothersとしての活動と並行して展開してきたソロアーティストとしてのキャリアも長く、多彩なオリジナル／リミックス作品をリリースしている。これまでにKomaktやPoker Flat、dirtybird、Circus Companyといった名門レーベルでリリース／リミックスを重ねてきていることからも、Robagのプロデューサーとしての評価の高さが伺える。
hip-hopやjazz、funk、rockに至るまで、様々なジャンルに影響を受けてきたRobagのサウンドは幅広く、創り出す音楽もtechnoやhouseはもちろんのこと、Drum & BassやChill Outなど、まさしくジャンルレスである。
Gabor Schablitzki was one part of Wighnomy Brothers releasing lots of successful remixes as Robag Wruhme since 2002 and his first EP Wuzzelbud "KK" in 2004. The Wighnomy Brothers were formed in 1997. Robag Wruhme spent a lot of the nineties as a chill-out DJ, starting the project Beefcake in 1996 with Volker Kahl.
Wruhme and Maffia cut their DJ skills at the Th?ringer Club, and were residents at Club Kassablanca, both in Jena. The pair founded the record label Freude am Tanzen in 1998 with the motto “Stehter Tropfen h?hlt den Stein” (‘steady drops will drill a hole in stone’). In 2002 they added a sublabel Musik Krause, both of which are distributed by the Cologne based Kompakt stable.
In 2010 he released “Rekksmi Sessions” on Freude am Tanzen and “Teaser 3” with the pachanga Boys on Total. .He also remixed “Luna City Express Hello from Planet Earth Mr. Jack” and “Claude Von Stroke feat Bootsy Collins The Greasy Beat”
Robag” s music could be described as sometimes cheerful and sometimes dark, and makes minimal techno that punts straight for the dancefloor.. Many people don't realize the talent possessed by Wruhme as a dj, remixer and producer. This is one artist to watch out for and everyone will be amazed when they hear him behind the decks.
