日本、中国、ベトナム、韓国、フィリピンの血をひく4人組、ケヴ・ニッシュ(Kev Nish)、プログレス(Prohgress)、ジェイ-スプリフ(J-Splif)、そしてDJヴァーマン(Virman)で結成するFar East Movementは、アジアンアメリカンのヒップホップグループとしてLAを拠点に活動。2006年にファーストアルバム『Folk Music』をリリースし、同年に発表したシングル『Round Round』が映画『ワイルドスピードX3 TOKYO DRIFT』にフィーチャーされた。2008年~3年連続でアルバムを制作・発表し、2010年のアルバムにいたってはSnoop Dogg、Keri Hilson、Lil Jon、Mohombi、そしてColette Carrがコラボレーターとして参加した。201年11月に発表したシングル『Like a G6』が世界的ヒットとなり、アジアンアメリカンのグループとしては初めてのビルボードTOP 10入り、そして首位に輝くという偉業を達成した。

Far East Movement
Hailing from LA, Far East Movement is an Asian-American hip-hop crew. The unit's members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif and DJ Virman represent Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Filipino ancestry. Their first album, "Folk Music" was released in early 2006 and the same year the single "Round Round" was featured on the soundtrack of hit movie "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift". They have since released three albums, in 2008, '09 and '10. Their 2010 long-player featured major artists like Snoop Dogg, Keri Hilson, Lil Jon, Mohombi and Colette Carr. The number one single "Like a G6" from that album went double-platinum and made them the first ever Asian-American act to score a top ten hit on the Billboard charts.
