Us3はロンドンを拠点とするジェフ・ウィルキンソンによって創設され、1992年にはハービー・ハンコックの名曲 “Cantaloupe Island” のサンプルをフィーチャーして大ヒットとなった “Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)が誕生しました。この曲を含めたアルバム “Hand on the Torch”は世界的ブームとなりブルーノート・レーベルとしては初のプラチナ・ヒット(100万枚販売)を記録しました。
ジェフの音源作りはクラシックなジャズ・トラックをビートやラップとミクシングし、過去を認めながら現在にルーツをもち、さらに未来も見つめるというコンセプトに基づいています。
2011年にリリースされた “Lie, Cheat & Steal “ は米国の権威あるヒップ・ホップのウェブサイトRapReviews.comで年間ベストアルバム部門でNo. 5にランキングされました。
2012年の来日公演はジェフに加え、神業的なスクラッチプレイをするDJ First Rateとのユニットによるライブとなります。彼は1996年に伝説的な４人組 “the Scratch Perverts” のメンバーとして世界で最も権威のあるDJ コンペティション、DMC DJ World Chapmpionshipの初のチームチャンピオンに輝きました。
ターンテーブルを手だけでなく体のあらゆるパーツで自在にあやつる彼のプレイは観客を常に熱狂させます。

Us3 was founded by London-based Geoff Wilkinson. Their album in 1992 that included "Cantaloop" , sampling the famous number by Harbie Hancock, became a world phoenomen and achieved the first platinum status in the history of Blue Note Records. Geoff's style of incorporating all genres music from Jazz, Bass & Drums, Latin and Hip Hop never stops evolving and always surprises people with its creativity.
Their latest album “Lie, Cheat & Steal” was released in 2011 and ranked No.5 best album of 2011 on influential US website www.RapReviews.com.
DJ First Rate was a member of Scratch Perverts, the legendary 4-men crew that won the first team champion at DMC World Champiionship. His acrobatic play using every part of body surely makes you hold your breath.
