Born in June 2006, Minitel Rose has all the qualities of a 2.0 band, who, without doing so nostalgically, looks and takes from the past whilst remaining firmly connected to the electro movement of today.
Drugged on "Do it yourself" and doped with a buzz going from west to East, these Frenchies have never fallen in the trap of a one hit wonder. In May 2008 in France, and in the autumn the same year in the rest of the world, the release of their Mini Album "The French Machine" a compact mix of retro futurist electro pop, seduces the public and professionals alike. The tour that followed inaugurated a live performance even more electronic than their EP and they went on to perform in Russia, Spain, Germany and even Bulgaria.
The outlines of "Atlantique" (Their new album released a year ago), were sketched while on the road, but it was pretty much with their feet in the water that Minitel Rose gave substance to this new album.
Between the humidity of a "Sebastien Tellier", the scientific cult of electronic dreams of "New Order" and the over-excitement of a "Calvin Harris", Minitel Rose has just taught climate change a lesson : Only one season is ever worth living : A nerver-ending summer with a clear blue sky, cradled in Atlantique"s electronic flows.
