Katzeは１５歳でデトロイトのレ―ブで最初にハウスミュージックに影響された。その後、９０年代後半に東京のクラブで始めてトランスミュージックを聞いた。高校を卒業し、シカゴの大学に一年いたが、そこではあまりエレクトロニック音楽シーンはなかった。その後、日本に帰国した。そして一年前ぐらいからイベント・スタッフとしてエレクトロニック音楽を再び楽しめ始めた。それで半年前ぐらい、ＤＪの友達からＤＪを習い始めた。イベントではハウス、トランス、サイトランスのを流す。とても社交的なのでリクエストも受け取ります。
DJ Katze grew up with musical surroundings. She sang in choir all of her life, played the piano since the age of 7, the clarinet, hand bells, and a little guitar.
She was first exposed to the House electronic music scene in Detroit back at raves in the 90s. She then came to Tokyo and discovered trance at night clubs.
After graduating high school and going to the U.S. for college, she still kept singing and playing the piano, though there was not much of an electronic scene near her school.
In the past couple years, she rediscovered her passion for Trance, House, and other Electro genres by being staff at events of DJ friends. She then pursued being a DJ and was taught by fellow friend DJs over the course of the past six months. Though a relative newbie to the scene, she has great musical taste and is still discovering and exploring different genres. Her long-time love for mainstream music is still expressed through her DJing of Top 40 music as well.
She is very social and will take song requests if she has the songs with her at an event.
