RHOMBUSは南太平洋の太陽をたっぷり浴びたルーツ/ヒップホップ/ソウル「Bass Player」で2003年のNZベストアルバム賞を受賞したニュージーランド出身のアーティスト。日本でも2006年2月にリリースされたサーフミュージックコンピレーション「Weekend Sessions 3」で明るいキウイ・ルーツ・レゲエ「Together」で1曲目を飾ったのが記憶に新しい。
2006年11月には、高い評価を受けた2アルバム「Bass Player」「Future Reference」からのリミックスに新曲、未発表曲を織りまぜ、ニューアルバム「Onwards: Remixes and Archives」をリリース。国際的にも有名なニュージーランドのアーティスト、DJ Fitchie (Fat Freddys Drop) Submariner、Rhian Sheehanも協力した本作は、世界中のオーガニック・ミュージック・ファンから好評を得ている。
