Kaori Ichikawa (Lady Something Different)
92年からDJ活動をスタート。海外での活動を機に2003年ロンドンの
TOMATOのクリエイター、サイモンテイラーによって LADY SOMETHING DIFFERENTと命名される。これまでに都内の主要なクラブや、シンガポール、ジャカルタ、台湾、上海、バンコク、オーストラリア、バリなどでDJしてきた。自身のレジデントパーティではKASKADE、JOHNNY FIASCO、DIZZY、DJ SONAらのシカゴ、ウエストコーストDJを東京に招聘し、シカゴ・ウエストコーストのハウスシーンを日本にも広めることに貢献。 現在 Shibuya-FMの番組PlaygroundでパーソナリティとDJをつとめ、不 定期にPlaygroundのパーティも開催している。2007/09にはブリュッセル(ベルギー)で開催された女性DJコンテスト<Girly DJ 2007>においてヨーロッパの女性DJと競合し、大会3位に入賞し た。 http://www.ladysomethingdifferent.com
Kaori a.k.a. Lady Something Different, back in 1992 spinning in front of her first crowd. Now bringing a distinctly soulful and infectiously funky grooves to Tokyo's dancefloors, as a result of her of affinity for House Music, Kaori frequently spins in the Tokyo scene major clubs. She's also in great demand throughout Japan and her passport pages are filling up with gigs in Sydney, Bali, Jakarta, Taipei, Shanghai, Singapore and Bangkok and more. Along the way, she's been fortunate enough to share the decks with with many talented DJs who resides in Tokyo and such luminaries from all over the world such as DJ Gregory, Johnny Fiasco, Kaskade, Dizzy, Anthony Nicholson, DJ Heather, Mark Grant, Jimpster, and more. Kaori also collaborated with a more mellow set for fashion brands like LEVIS', KENZO PARFUM, CARTIER, Toyota, e.t.c. at their reception parties. Her name, Lady Somthing Different, was bestowed by Simon Taylor who is a fellow music freak in London represents Tomoto, a graphic design unit. Her resident in Tokyo is at at Club La Fabrique in Shibuya the bi-monthly party called "50/50 Fifty Fifty" and also she hosts once a month radio show program at Shibuya FM 78.4mhz every 2nd monday. 2007, Kaori joined the "GIRLY DJ CONTEST 2007" held at Brussels, Belgium at Club FUSE and won 3rd place, competing among European female DJs.
