90年、ジャパニーズ・クラブ・ジャズ界のパイオニア、U.F.O.ことユナイテッド・フューチャー・オーガニゼイション結成。メンバーは矢部直、フランス出身のラファエル・セバーグ、松浦俊夫(02年脱退)。91年、「I Love My Baby(My Baby Loves Jazz)」がロンドンのクラブ・シーンで話題となり、「Loud Minority」(92年)は、イギリス『ECHO』誌のジャズ・チャートにて第1位を獲得。1stアルバム『Jazzin'』(92年)は、日本のみならず、ヨーロッパのクラブ・シーンを席巻した。その後も、2ndアルバム『No Sound Is Too Baboo』(94年)、3rdアルバム『3rd Perspective』(96年)、4thアルバム『Bon Voyage』(99年)が、軒並みワールドワイドなヒットを記録。『Bon Voyage Les Remixes』(99年)、『Now and Then:Years of Lightning,Day of Drums(1990-1997)』(00年)では、キング・ブリット/フィル・アッシャー/ケン・イシイ/ペシャイ/田中フミヤといった各界のツワモノをリミキサーとして起用するなど、ジャンルに捕われない姿勢が評価され、今やジャズのみならずテクノやハウスのリスナーからも絶大な人気を博している。

In 1990, three musicians Nao Yabe, Rafael Seberg and Toshio Matuirad established the unit called United Future Organization.
They are known as the pioneers of the club scene in Japan and they released several albums world wide under their own music label " Brownswood". They try to inspire the audience with their speedy but smooth rhythms, meaningful words, and melodies with
reminiscence memories.Also they have been known as famous DJs in Japan since the mid eighties, and they received a lot of credit and support from many other countries as well.
Their sharp point of views and unique sense of style, including their fashion and art works have been always spotlighted and influencing not only musicians but also other artists.
Since their first single was released in 1990, they have released five albums and now they are sold in 32 countries in world wide. In 2002, Toshio Matsuura quit the unit however their performance is getting more interesting and gathering attentions these days.
