マレックは１５年に渡ってカナダ、バンクーバーにてユニークかつベースの効いた音のメッセージをハウス、テクノファンに届けてきた。 彼は今その音波を東京のハウスヘッズ達に提供している。
９０年代に数々の大きなパーティに足を運ぶに連れ、マレックは音楽に対する深い尊敬の念を持ち始め、自然と彼をターンテーブルの前へと立たせた。 マレックは常に自らの耳をアンダーグラウンド、それも非日常的なベースラインを持った音へと向けている。
彼の音楽的な嗜好はテンポの速いテクノから彼の呼ぶところの”フリーキィハウス”へと進化を遂げた。 グルーブを常に根底に持ちつつマレックの現在のスタイルは異質な音達が重なり合ったダンスサウンドへと昇華されている。 彼のマントラは”ハイハットは人々を上へ、ベースラインは彼らを進ませる、そして非日常な音達は彼らを考えさせる”である。
大きなパーティでも楽しむことはできるが、マレック本人はアフターアワーの持つ緊密さとオープンマインドな空気を好んでいる。 今彼はビビッドな色彩という名の音で我々を包んでくれている。
マレック プライスのハウスはファンクなダンスサウンドとインテリジェンスの交差、絡み合いによって生まれた特別なハウスである。 そしてその連鎖はあなたの脳天から靴の先までを突き抜けるのだ。
For 15 years, Marek has been delivering his unique, bass-driven message to House and Techno fans in Vancouver, Canada. He now brings his sound to the House-Heads in Tokyo, Japan.
Having attended "massive" parties in the mid-90's, Marek's deep respect for the music naturally brought him behind a pair of 1210's. Over the years, Marek's kept a keen ear to the pavement, in search of basslines and sounds which he finds extra-ordinary.
His musical taste has evolved from higher-tempo Techno to what he now calls "Freaky House". Always with a deep undercurrent of groove, Marek's current style involves dance-ready tracks with washes and stabs of alien-esque sounds. His mantra is: "The hi-hats bring you up, bassline keeps you going, and the weird sounds make you think."
Although he's comfortable behind the decks at large parties, Marek prefers the intimacy and open-mindedness of afterhours events. Here, he paints with vivid colours; some you may not before have seen.
Marek Price's brand of House is special, with an uncommon helix of dance-ready funk and intelligence, twisting through your mind, all the way down to your shoes.
