MISHKA was launched in New York in 2003 by co-owners Mikhail and Gregory. A clothing line inspired by '80s punk, the skate scene, obscure pop culture, anime, movies and collectible toys, it soon became a favorite among artists and the Brooklyn store was followed by another in LA, which opened in Feb this year, and another in Tokyo the following month. The label has done collaborations with names like MAD DECENT, PHENOMENON, THE HUNDREDS, MIGHTY HEALTHY, KING STAMPEDE, SSUR and KID ROBOT. The MISHKA guys also run pist bike team D.A.R.T. (Death Adder Road and Track), led by US fixie icon John Prolly. Just so you know, MISHKA is Russian for "bear cub".
