Music and booze are the key elements of this cool night for gutsy guys called CULTURE CULB 75. A rare DJ set from 50/50, the unit formed by Tokyo anthropologist YONE and Osaka club scene godfather DJ TANKO is augmented by SNS friend boojp and mix culture star Takeru John Otoguro behind the decks.

YONE aka Yasumasa Yonehara (CexWork)
Born on May 20th in 1959, Yone is same age as Barbie dolls and The Tokyo Tower, 50 years old: a grown man with a solemn child's mind. Famed for his depictions of women on cheki-type Polaroid film, Yone has become a cult figure both in Japan and, increasingly, overseas.

DJ TANKO (LOW DAMAGE)
DJ TANKO is the godfather of the Osaka hip hop scene ? the Afrika Bambaata of West Japan. Besides his work as a DJ, he also works as a producer, critic and clothing designer. After experiencing the nascent hip hop scene in New York in 1979, he brought his knowledge back to Japan. DJ TANKO's popular mix CD series TOUR DE GROOVE is worth checking out.

Having collaborated with Nagoya legend DJ KANBE on his second single, 2009s Next Borderline as well as top artists like m-flo and Shinichi Osawa, boojp is a highly sought-after singer. He made his debut in 2002 with the single Smile in Your Face ? feat. Muro. In 2008 he collaborated with m-flo and TAKU on “French Girl!!!!!” as well as with THE LOWBROWS and DABO on Sneaker Jump Music. His second album is called excusez-moi.

Takeru John Otoguro
Paris-born DJ and event organizer Takeru John Otoguro was raised between Japan, Thailand and the UK. He began working in the Nu Jazz and Crossover scenes in 2003. Kyoto Jazz Massive s Shuya Okino produces events called Tokyo Jazz Meeting and Jazzanova, which released a mix CD titled JAZZNOVA …Mixing and Otoguro was the front act for it. He spins breakbeats, house, techno, electro, hip hop and drum n bass. He has run the event Absolute!! At Aoyamas LOOP for three years since 2006. He produced Japan tours for bands Spiritual South and Simbad. He is resident DJ at Tachytelic, the regular event run by m-flo s Taku☆Takahashi at Air, as well as BASS-MENT at LOOP. He also works as a writer.
