montea’s musical history stretches back to when he started to play the violin at the age of 4. After becoming the bassist in a rock band when he was 18, he became fascinated with DJing and immersed himself in dance music culture. It was a sensible move, as the DJ has since earned supporting slots for massive names such as Derrick May, Chris Liebing, Takkyu Ishino, Ken Ishii, Fumiya Tanaka, Shin Nishimura and Kitsune, playing more than 120 gigs in 2005 alone! He blends techno, minimal, tribal and funky electro house to create a musical story which takes crowds in many directions ? but always with a happy ending. Also as the organizer of Kyushu Force events, which have been running for four years in Fukuoka, he handles DJing, organisation, artwork as well as promotion. This year Montea launched the "KSF" label to encourage young talent in the city and also promote local artists and release their works. Montea is dedicated to connecting the dance music scenes of Asia and Fukuoka ? which is the closest entry point to Asia in Japan.
