Xavier Morel's love of electronic music started on a faithful day in '76 when he won Kraftwerk's Radio Activity single at a winter fair.
12 years later he was mixing at underground parties in the suburbs of London when one day he decided to go traveling. Amazingly he found his way onto a billing at Kho Phangan's infamous New Years eve parties and then made his way to Japan. Since then Xavier has toured his sound all around Europe, Asia, Australia, the U.S.A and South America. ??From the late '90s, Xavier produced several tracks on various projects, mainly with Juno Reactor from 1996 to 2008, Prime Suspect, Section X, Eat Static, Fuel, Carcharodon Megalodon. Now all his effort and studio work goes into a collaboration project called VX with Virgil Enzinger from Salburg, Austria. In 2009 VX debuted their first album 'VX-Fiction' on the German label Nachtstrom Schallplatten and has seen success with the likes of Speedy-J, Dave Clarke, The Advent, Eric Sneo, Felix Krocher, Arne (aka Extrawelt) etc. praising their releases. Xavier Morel sums up his style best: "The most important concept in music is not the way you play your tracks but the story you make with them! Mixing and music is my passion and my career. I hope to carry and share this as long as possible!"

Terry Francisは今までの彼のキャリアの中で、Housey Doingz (with Nathan Coles)、2 Smoking Barrels、Blue Wig、Dattare, The Delinquents, G. L.F, Green Grass, Metal Dogz and T- Collective等の名義で曲をリリースし、最近ではKlunk & Zilly名義としても、素晴らしい作品を世に送り続けている稀有な才能を持った人物です。
彼が土曜日にレジデントDJをつとめる、ロンドンの老舗ClubであるFabricでは、オープン当初からレジデントDJとしてプレイをし続けており、彼のDJはFabricの歴史の中でも最も輝きを放ち続けた存在であり、そして常にシーンの中心となって影響を与え続けました。
彼はその後、同じ感性をもつプロデューサーと一緒となり曲のサポートし、またツアーDJとして帯同し続けた結果、今のテクノ・ハウスシーンにおいて彼は最も重要不可欠な人物となりました。

After our many escapades this summer Phonika is back to celebrate its 2nd Year Anniversary in style @ Unit with one of the most influential underground DJs on the Planet. Over the years Terry Francis has brought to our attention a series of solid productions, both as Housey Doingz (with Nathan Coles) & released under the monikers 2 Smoking Barrels, Blue Wig, Dattare, The Delinquents, G. L.F, Green Grass, Metal Dogz and T- Collective in addition to his latest releases under Klunk & Zilly.

Alongside weekly dates worldwide, Terry's been a Saturday resident at London club fabric since it first opened it's doors & his DJ sets have been a consistent highlight in fabric's history, continually underlining his dual position as scene-stayer and tastemaker. An unwitting ambassador of the tech-house scene he has been in constant demand as a touring DJ, supporting the works of likeminded producers in the process.

We have been working on this for over a year and due to his commitment to the worlds number one club fabric, it has been difficult to lock this booking in. But, after all our hard work in making this happen we are extremely proud to announce we have the legendary Terry Francis as our special guest bringing to the table his very own take on electronic dance music.

Also on the night we have one of the most respected DJs on the Tokyo circuit today who will be showcasing his very new VX Techno sound. He has graced the decks in just about every club in Japan & performed at nearly all the festivals over the last twenty years including a magical set at this years Audio | Tokyo Electronic Music Festival. Xavier Morel has yet again been able to pull out a few surprises this year and after the acclaim of his recent VX album from the likes of Chris Leibing, Adam Beyer, The Advent, Ame, Dave Clarke we are lucky to have him perform on the Phonika Anniversary.

Continuing with our focus on the live aspect at our events we are also extremely proud to announce that after a long wait we have been able to bag a personal favourite of ours, Timothy Really`s extremely talented Spek. Comprising of So Inagawa (Minimood/Multi Vitamins), Sackrai (Minimood/Archipel) & the ever alluring Eri on vocals Spek have proved to be one of Tokyo`s surprise packages on the electronic music scene receiving rave reviews and plaudits for their deep melodic grooves and astonishing live performances.

In the main room we will have two of the cities top VJ talent in RealRockDesign & Mule Musics very own Idealsolution who will be transforming the dancefloor at Unit like you have never seen it before.

In the Saloon we are lucky enough to have Minimal Tokyo running the show, bringing their very own flavor with some of Tokyos finest underground techno DJs. We have Minimal Tokyo powerhouses Tatsuya & Valentino De Bronff who will be running the show. They will be supported by DJ Salmon, Tomotsugu Kondo in addition to Phonika residents Yuki Tsukinaga & DJ Hirose. In charge of the visual transformation in the Saloon for the evening will be Phonikas very own Okon & VJ You.

Due to the underground rave scene at the time, Alex Einz found inspiration from the sounds of 808 State,Kraftwerk,early Depeche Mode and Aphex Twin, amongst others.

As a DJ and producer , he has been able to fuse together these influences and push his very own take on electronica by constantly pushing the boundaries within a club environment with his deep techno experimental grooves keeping true to his musical orientation.

Moving to Asia and having guest DJ'ed throughout Asia, Europe, and the Middle East for many years he is now heavily involved in the Tokyo club scene with his clubnight "Phonika" which aims to consistently forge the paths of house and techno in Tokyo with a healthy mix of Japanese and international DJs.

Alex Einz has been playing and supporting the underground scene since his early days in Israel and continues with an experimental brand of techno music that showcases his talents both musically and technically as respected EDM(Electronic dance music) artist, fusing new technology to create a unique musical experience in his performances

As a producer, he has released on multiple labels but in early 2010 decided to concentrate on his record label “Mono Basics” which is a vinyl oriented boutique label focused on Japanese artists.

He is passionate about pushing his sound as not a specific genre, but a blend of many influences from Jazz to Disco, Funk to Techno, Old Skool to Hip Hop, all with an undercurrent of groove that stays true to his moniker.
Using elements from his musical upbringing, he has been able to fuse together these sounds to create sets that are aimed at 'changing the way you listen to the music' irrespective of genre or relevance.

幼少の頃よりピアノを習い家族の影響を受け、なかば強制的に音楽を叩き込まれ育った彼は、
中学から始めたスケートボードを通じ自然溢れるストリートで
スケーター／ミュージシャンとして活動する先輩方と出会い様々なサウンドに触れ
底知れない音楽のパワーを強烈に体感し没頭。

その後、内面に響くハートミュージックの洗礼を受け、
バイナルを掘り続け、DJ活動を開始。

DJのSTYLEは彼がこれまでに感動の体験、体感をして来た独自のGROOVEを
日本人ならではの繊細で温かい感覚を呼び覚まし、
彼独自のグルーヴを追求し日々活動を続けている。

都内各所で行われたイベント出演で評価され、2005年より『究極のリスニング空間』をテーマに掲げ
ブッキングマネージメント、イベント企画、アートディレクションなどのプロジェクトなど様々な分野で活動している
『Timothy Really』に所属し、CD制作、イベントプランニング、プロデュースなども手掛けている。
更にNGtom,tosiと新たなハイクオリティーなlife styleを提供するSelect Museum shop
『　VAVA　』を発足させ、近日OPEN予定である。

It has to be a deep love of the music, not just as a DJ but as a student of others that allows us to truly experience the music and to be lucky enough as a DJ to tell our own story.

A perfect example of this is at the Americado parties at AIR in Daikanyama where DJ Hirose is resident along with Sahib from the Jazz Brothers. COTTON is Erica Dorn (www.erica-dorn.com) and Marek Okon (www.marekokon.com). Having met while working for a Tokyo-based music label, and undeterred by their typical 12-hour workdays, they began VJing in order to unite their love for the city's vibrant club culture with their obsessive interests in visual experimentation. Their personal work extends beyond their professional design practice into areas such as illustration, motion graphics and photography. They currently divide their time between Tokyo and London.

COTTON are also the resident VJs for the PHONIKA TOKYO.
