Vigoo (宇田川優/ Yuu Udagawa) DJ, 音楽クリエーター

アンダーグラウンド・ダンスミュージックシーンで、着実な成長をつづける実力派女性DJ、音楽クリエーター。幼少の頃より、ピアノ、オルガン、打楽器に慣れ親しみ、ダンスを習い、音楽とダンスと共に育つ。高校時代よりバンド活動を行い、ギターとラップをするなど、マルチプレイヤーとしての才能を育み、都内近郊のライブハウスで数多くのライブ経験を積み重ねた。2000年よりVigoooまたはVigoo名義でDJとしてのキャリアをスタートさせる。2008年には、Warp誌による国内外Girls DJ 100として認められるほどに、スキルを磨き続け、キャリアを積み重ねてきた。2009年には奄美大島 皆既日食音楽祭に出演。Vigoo名義でのダンスセット、Yuu Udagawa名義でのアンビエントセットという二つの側面を披露した。DJのみならず、楽曲制作にも積極的に取り組んでおり、2010年にはSony Playstation本体(Torne)にYuu Udagawa名義で”Blossom”を楽曲提供。Vigoo名義でAndy Roda/ SHAKE YOUR THANG (Vigoo, Nag Remix)を配信リリース。同年夏にはRedBull Music Academy Basic Campにて国内アーティストに選ばれ、更にBaseCamp最終日にMetamorphoseに出演。また、Yuu Udagawa名義でアンビエント・ライブプロジェクトを始動。Moog等シンセサイザーと声をPCで操り、独特の世界をサウンドにもたらしている。現在は西麻布Soundbar+でのアフターアワーズパーティ”Agelb”でレジデントDJとしてDeep & Sexyなグルーヴで遊び足りない早朝のクラウドをガッツリ踊らせつづけている。キュートなルックスから「アイドル的DJ」とも受け取られかねないが、宇田川優の音楽活動はより本質的なものである。幼少の頃から積み重ねてきた、音楽経験と、豊富な音楽知識を持つ、リアルな才能として、音楽による快楽を提供しつづけているのだ。(文：門井隆盛)

Vigoo, Yuu Udagawa (DJ/Sound Creator)

Yuu Udagawa is female DJ/Sound Creator who shows steady progress in underground dance music scene. Since she was young, she learned piano, organ, percussion and dance. She grew up with music and dance. She joined her first band in high school. She was rapper/guitarist, and nurtured her talent as multi-player. With this band, she played in various venues in Tokyo and build up her skill as live performer. In 2000, she started DJing as "DJ Vigooo" or "Vigoo". She performed in many gigs and build up her skills. In 2008, she was selected as Top 100 girl DJs by Warp Magazine. In 2009, She performed Dance Music set as "Vigoo" and also played ambient set as "Yuu Udagawa" at TOTAL ECLIPSE Music Festival 2009 in Amami Ohshima. She also produce music. Yuu Udagawa's "Blossom" is selected by Playstation for hardware's soundtrack.

In 2010, she was selected as one of the students of "Red Bull Music Academy Basic Camp" in Japan. She performed at Metamorphose Festival at the end of her academy experience. Recently, she has started ambient project as Yuu Udagawa utilizing synth and voice with PC. Currently she has residency at afterhours party "Agelb" at Soundbar+. She is playing deep and sexy groove for the dancers in sunday morning. From her cute looks, she might be considered "pop-star DJ", but her attitude towards music is serious. She is a real talent with musical experiences and knowledges she has built up since she was a little. She is offering musical pleasure to dance floors.
