現地時間2019年11月24日にアメリカ・ロサンゼルスのマイクロソフト・シアターで開催された 2019 Ameican Music Awards（2019アメリカン・ミュージック・アワード）の全受賞者が発表された。
Post Malone（ポスト・マローン）がアーティスト・オフ・ザ・イヤーや、フェイヴァリット・男性アーティストなど最多7部門でノミネート。Billie Eilish（ビリー・アイリッシュ）、Ariana Grande（アリアナ・グランデ）が6部門と続いている。
Taylor Swift（テイラー・スウィフト）は今回5部門でノミネートされており、その内の2部門以上を受賞すれば、Michael Jackson（マイケル・ジャクソン）が持っている最多受賞記録を抜くこととなる。Taylor Swift は過去の楽曲の演奏を巡ってスクーター・ブラウンと争っていたが、直前にレーベルが声明を発表し、演奏は問題ないと表明したため問題なくパフォーマンスは行われた。パフォーマンスではステージに Camila Cabello（カミラ・カベロ）、Halsey（ホールジー）も登場し、ステージが彩られた。
最近何かとお騒がせの Selena Gomez（セレーナ・ゴメス）も2年ぶりにテレビの生放送でパフォーマンスを行った。Justin Bieber（ジャスティン・ビーバー）との関係を歌った、話題のバラード「Lose You To Love Me」を含む2曲を披露。ステージに出る前にパニックの発作を起こし、音程が狂ったりと緊張していたようだ。来年にはアルバムもリリースされる予定なので、次のステージにも期待したい。
