Asalato, otherwise known as Patica or Televi, is a traditional instrument that originated in Western Africa.
It is a simple instrument made of nuts connected by a string, and it is also used as a toy for children in Africa.
Musicians make sounds with this instrument by holding it between the index and middle finger and hitting one ball on the other.
Asalato creates two types of sounds, like a maraca's shake and a castanet's click.
