FROM THE JAM - THE BEST OF THE JAM - “THE PUBLIC GETS WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS”
The Jam’s Bruce Foxton, returns to Japan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their hit album, All Mod Cons!
The Jam’s founding member, Bruce Foxton is set to return to Japan, with his critically acclaimed band, FROM THE JAM. The band are set to play two shows in Tokyo, celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Jam’s legendary album, All Mod Cons, before a second greatest hits show. The show represents the first chance for The Jam fans to hear all the bands hits, back to back, since they last toured Japan in 1982.
Formed in 1977, The Jam, were one of the most influential bands on the UK music scene. The band was made up of Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, until the band disbanded in 1982 at the height of their popularity. Their work which tapped into punk, rock, mod-revival, R&B and soul, heavily influenced the britpop music of the 1990s, with bands such as Blur and Oasis citing them as a key influence.
In The Jam, Foxton was very much the driving force, power and rhythm section behind singer, guitarist, and songwriter Paul Weller. Bruce's versatility was evident, taking lead vocals on "David Watts" and writing "News Of The World", which to this day appears as the theme to the BBC’s Mock the Week show.
In 2006, Foxton decided to unite with guitarist and lead vocalist Russell Hastings, and drummer Mike Randon, and continue to perform The Jam’s songs as FROM THE JAM. Their explosive live performances have been met with much fervour, touring the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong to sold out venues and even receiving the blessing of Weller himself.
March 2018, will see the band play Japan for the first time, for what promises to be two fantastic nights of thumping bass lines and anthemic classics. Tuesday 13th will see the band celebrate the 40th anniversary of legendary album “All Mod Cons”, with a selection of hit records from the album as well as other hits. Meanwhile, Wednesday 14th, will see the band revisit their greatest hits for a special “The Public Gets What The Public Wants” show. It’s safe to say that this band which has made fans of The Jam roar around the world is the genuine article and not to be missed.
