『オーストラリア出身のエレクトロニック・バンド Cut Copy が約11年ぶりに来日』

デビュー・アルバム「Bright Like Neon Love」で一躍注目を集め、昨年リリースした４年ぶりの最新作 「Haiku From Zero」も話題になったオーストラリアで最も成功を収めたバンドであるCut Copy。
地元メルボルンのパーティ集団Animals Dancingを率いるTornado Wallaceや、Francis Inferno Orchestra、Harvey Sutherland等のアーティストとも親交が深く、2014年秋にはメルボルンの音楽シーンをフィーチャーしたドキュメンタリー映像( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t_9_5qXfys )も公開している。
エレクトロポップを昇華して、John TalabotやFour Tet、Todd Terjeにも通じるような、サイケデリックなテクノにイタロハウスやNuディスコをクロスオーバーさせたDJセットが期待できそうだ。

The debut album「Bright Like Neon Love」became an overnight sensation. Last year, Cut Copy released「Haiku From Zero」after a 4 year hiatus which put them back in the spotlight.
Through the party crew Animals Dancing in their hometown Melbourne, they’ve built relationships with artists such as Tornado Wallace, Francis Inferno Orchestra and Harvey Sutherland. In the fall of 2014, they have released a documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t_9_5qXfys) focusing on Melbourne’s music scene.
Their unique blend of psychedelic techno, Italo house and Nu Disco all fused together goes beyond electro pop that can be related to the likes of John Talabot, Four Tet and Todd Terje.
