Masato Honda (saxophone)
Influenced by parents who were music teachers, Masato Honda showed interest in music and started playing the saxophone at a young age. When he was a member of the jazz orchestra at Kunitachi College of Music, the orchestra were champions at their first appearance of the Yamano Big Band Contest and Honda won Best Soloist. While still in school, he started his career as a lead alto sax player of the band Nobuo Hara and His Sharps & Flats. In 1991 he joined the top fusion group T-Square and provided some fresh air as a performer as well as compositions and arrangements. After he left the band, he focused on solo activity. He has also led successful projects such as Witness, B.B. Station, Four of a Kind, Voice Of Elements and has worked in collaboration with the singer Marlene. After a great experience recording with Bob James in Los Angeles in 2008, Honda has vigorously pursued opportunities to work as a producer as well as continuing as a solo artist.... More Biography
