Margaret Dygas AOKI takamasa SOICHI BUSSY Ebo Door: ¥3000 W/1D ¥2500 FB ¥2000 under 23 / before 22:00 Time: 21:00 -L A T E Margaret Dygas PERLON / Berlin マーガレットのアーティスト人生には数々の紆余曲折があった。ポーランドで生まれた彼女はドイツを経て80年代後半にアメリカ、カリフォルニアにたどり着き当時台頭していたOld School Hip Hopにのめり込む事となる。90年代初頭にはニューヨークにて、House/Technoと巡り会い、やがてイギリスのクラブシーンに魅了され、99年にロンドンに移り住む。当初ロンドンでは働く傍らでの音楽活動であったが、周囲から着実に評価され、次第に音楽活動に専念していく。現在も拠点を置くベルリンには2007年に移住した。彼女はそこで自身の楽曲制作を開始し、ContexterriorやPower Shovel AudioやPERLONそしてNon Standard ProductionsなどからEP、アルバムをリリースしている。これまでの幅広い音楽的背景がDJ、楽曲制作時の実験的アプローチを支えており彼女が最も愛し影響を受けたディープでダビーなサウンドが組み込まれている。ベルリンのPanorama Barでの隔月のレジデンスと、毎週末のDJツアーで忙しくしているが、マーガレットは素敵なジャズレコードを聴き一服の抹茶と愛猫とのリラックスタイムもかかさない。 Margaret Dygas’ life has been a series of twists and turns. Born in Poland, in the 80’s she ended up in the West Coast of the US, by way of Germany, where she immersed herself in Old School Hip Hop. She then moved to New York to study fashion where she had a chance meeting with House and Techno. Dazzled by the club scene, she transplanted herself to London where she worked as a makeup artist while kicking off her journey into the music world. As her unique sound began to reach a wider audience and gain more respect, she began taking up residencies in some of London’s top clubs like Fabric, The End/AKA, and The Key. In 2006, she relocated to Berlin where she eventually reached the pinnacle of the club world by locking in a residency at Berghain/Panorama Bar. Margaret’s productions integrate the deep and dub-influenced sounds that she’s so very fond of with elements of driving fuck, which is a head nod to her musical past. Furthermore, all the unique music and sounds that she’s been able to take in as a result of playing all over the globe have led to a her release many marvelous works of music released on a lineup of some of the best labels out there, such as Contexterrior, PowerShovelAudio, Perlon, Non Standard Productions, to name a few.
