Marcella Precise
Marcella Precise is many things. A music producer, a songwriter, a voiceover actress, a recording artist and a head turner. Possibly the best summation would be, she is
an illustration of Hip-Hop music’s persistent & beautiful evolution.
The vibrant vocalist’s sound is a genre-defying hybrid that personifies “Downtown Cool”. Fusing NYC’s nightlife subculture with electronic dance music’s raw energy, Pop melodies and a classic hip-hop attitude. Her Electro-Chic sound is a veritable mash-up of genre, life, art, beats & style.
For this agent of change a pair of 8-inch heels are an instrument. Fabric, color, texture, vintage drum machines & social awareness are as much a part of her orchestra as cello’s, tympani’s & violins.
The Brooklyn born “creative” started writing at an early age. Winning various poetry and creative writing contests through grade school & High school. Realizing she had a way with words & a love for music, she studied digital production technique in college. During this time Marcella was developing her skills as a composer & performer, taking her influences, like Missy Elliot, Gwen Stefani, Tribe Called Quest & the Black Eyed Peas, particularly their front man Will.I.Am and using them to contour her own style. She explains, “My love affair with classic hip hop was a big part of my development as an artist, producer and songwriter”. But it wasn’t until a trip abroad introduced her to EDM (Electronic Dance Music) that her musical world opened up,
“I realized how much I loved the texture of vintage synths paired with the nuances of urban music
and I felt a connection with the imaginative personalities that called that scene home”
With her musical world now expanded, Marcella decided to follow another passion of hers and began booking commercial, jingle & voiceover work including being chosen as one of the voices of the sassy Sasha on the BRATZ animated series.
Since making her way into the world of Billboard top 10’s and Grammy award nominations. The BMI Pop Award winning songwriter has kept busy writing and producing as ? of the production/Songwriting duo Lady And A Tramp with Partner Terence “Tramp-Baby” Abney. An impressive discography followed that stretches genre to genre and includes working with household names like bad girl superstar rocker PINK, pop princesses Jordin Sparks, Stacie Orrico & Keisha Chante, R&B & Hip Hop legends Luther Vandross, Charlie Wilson & Naughty By Nature as well as new soul luminaries Jaheim, Musiq & Syleena Johnson. Even International Superstars Madcon called in this talented team to work on 3 songs for their #1 selling album. Always ones to be at the forefront of a “new thing”, their work with many of tomorrows stars like Doxi Jones & Elite 3 will help set the stage for even more hits to come with a new generation emerging artists.
Marcella created her own series of PRE-Mixes releasing her own internet remixes of Pop, Dance & R&B hits, including her hugely successful PRE-Mixes of Mary J Blige’s “Just Fine” (featuring MarcellaPrecise, Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz), Janet Jackson’s “Feedback” (feat. Marcella Precise) & Havana Brown’s “We Run The Night” (feat. Marcella Precise & Pitbull). DJ’s, bloggers and fans worldwide responded with so much excitement that it led her to release 2 PRE-Mix EP’s. Her Janet Jackson Themed “The PRE-Mix Principle vol 1” & “Passport Pre Vol. 1” remixing hits from some of the international music scenes biggest stars including Korea’s Big Bang, Norway’s Madcon & Germany’sThe Michael Mind Project.
With her talent of crafting hits for others Marcella applied that skillset to craft her own runway worthy single "Pan-Am (We So Fly)" featuring pop upstart Martina Sorbara of Canadian electro pop outfit Dragonette. The catchy 808 bass driven Electropop tune, which showcases her sexy & poised "Dominique Deveraux Flow" is creating waves from Prague to Paris, Miami to Dubai.
Marcella is currently hard at work creating her album. An energy filled, fashion forward, socially aware piece of art that will find its place in that beautifully expansive evolution of hip hop music. Yes, Marcella Precise IS many things, but one thing is for sure, it would be accurate to add “NEXT” to that list.
