Under his Focus Puller Guise, Mike has taken his music to the next level; "I wanted to concentrate more on my live thing; rather than sitting down to write a tune then moving on when it's 'done' I'm working on sets of an hour or more at a time. This has allowed me to explore a lot of interesting avenues while at the same time, nailing the kind of grooves and momentum that work on the dancefloor and have a sense of direction. I guess it still has the 'Mike Healey sound', but more focus, hence the name!
Mike is also no slouch on the decks, having played at Fabric, Turnmills, and Global Gathering, and has played alongside Funk D'Void, Terry Francis, Nathan Coles, Paul Woolford, and Yousef to name but a few. Mike also came runner up in IDJ Magazine's mix competition in 2005, with an eclectic 24 track mix that blended Hip Hop, Downtempo, Drum and Bass, Breaks, Tech-House and Techno.
Mike's long-term association with Cubism Records has led to great things for all concerned. The label, originally conceived by Tony Thomas and Mark Gwinnett, and now co-run between Mark and the exciting Saytek, is turning heads across the Globe, while the associated nights have flourished from Humble beginnings at Maidstone's River Bar, to hosting Room 3 at Fabric. Mike is proud to have been a resident since the very beginning, and is looking forward to returning to Fabric this summer.
