Pavel Mikhailov / Pav L was born near Moscow in Russia on 18/11/1989 and grew up in Sardinia, a wonderful Italian island. He started to compose his first and really simple tunes being inspired by listening to the BBC radio 1 night casts with Pete Tong, loads of hip-hop and electronic music giants like Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Radiohead and Depeche Mode. Keeping always the iPod in the pocket he dedicated all his free time to the music. In 2007 he has obtained his first Dj residence in a local club but was being forced to play mainstream stuff to keep busy the dance floor. Perhaps it helped to earn money for the equipment and to develop so his passion for underground house, techno and even drum and bass around small venues of friends. In 2010 his first project 'KALIBRO9' with a percussionist called Michael 'Night' Avellino was released twice on Beatport and was the fist approach to the world of the music distribution. At the same time another band was formed with a creative genius Paolo 'Angus' Carta and the owner of a small record studio Francesco 'French' Fenu. This one was called 'Nothing' and accompanied by a really sick multimedia. The project was charted in the top 5 Art and Culture at Italian Web Awards 2010. In 2011 Pav L had chance to meet Giampietro 'John's' Saporito a Sardinian guy with a similar story, thinking and music taste. They've started to play back to back and the feeling during those performances was a top notch. A huge desire to 'rock the dance floor pushed them to move in London and to build a new brand called 'Av.rage'. Releasing the first EP - 'Doctors' - in 2012 and thanks to the support of some local Djs they've performed their first London parties. Just a year later Av.rage played at above 50 gigs in the UK and Italy, launched their own record label called 'Jamed records' and the weekly Monday party at one of the craziest venues in East London - Trafik. Their tunes and vinyls were also played on Hoxton FM and Feeling London radio.
