In these times where dance music players have to ride safe and hardly out of their assigned niche sound, Resident Advisor described Mugwump's über-prolific output as "the most diverse catalogue in the current house music field" and Pitchfork simply reviewed their music as "timeless" and with "a solid range". It's maybe due to the fact that Geoffroy Mugwump and Kolombo have created an aggro of non-formulaic music together, that's fusing 80's dancey pop music, ebm, dub, industrial funk & new-beat influences with modern disco & low-slung techno on a plethora of essential & leading dance labels, predominantly on Kompakt of course but on R&S, Cocoon, Gigolo, Throne of Blood, Permanent Vacation, Eskimo, Endless Flight, Astrolab or Let's Play House too.

Since their first steps together, Geoffroy Mugwump & Kolombo have truly refined their disco-techno fusion, with their slo-mo anthem, "Boutade" being the cornerstone of their rich catalogue and a modern-day classic now. Kolombo has become huge on the international circuit in the meantime, with his highly effective house and disco solo output on DIY24, Kompakt, Turbo, Get Physical and Noir and Geoffroy is also running Brussels' new big nightlife hit, the ultra-rated and successful Leftorium club night, home to the most discerning jocks on the planet. Mugwump have recently released music on Let's Play House, remixed Andrew Weatherall (who, obviously is a big fan) and Tim Fairplay ' s The Asphodells on Rotter's Golf Club, have a re-release of "Boutade" coming up again on Uruguay's balearic label International Feel and have a long-time coming, debut artist album in the pipe-line, with loads of cool vocalists.
