Starting out with his brother's harmonica, a recorder, and singing in choirs as a kid, Samuel's life has always been influenced by music. Classical music was his background: aged 7 was the piano, then 8 and 10 came the violin and the viola respectively; eventually singing in his city's cathedral choir, and playing for youth and school orchestras as a teen. At 15 came his introduction to club music; a step away from the classical mainstream, and into the contemporary sub-culture myriad of Funkstyles and Dance music. Although by now, plenty of Dance music tracks had been heard on the radio and on TV, it was the 2004 UK Chart hit "Lola's Theme" by The Shapeshifters that would peak Sam's interest in House music. This gradually developed into a love for House music and its sub-genres; early Electro House being one of the main stimuli that would encourage him to save money and purchase his first DJ rig, as a means of introducing others to the music he got goosebumps from.
