今日めざましく進化するハウスとテクノシーンの最先端に身を置いているDavid Hulsken。ユニークで、プログレッシブなマインドを持つ彼のダンスフロアサウンドは常に、それぞれの楽曲に独創的なフィーリングとマッシブなグルーヴをもたらす。

バッセム出身のDavidは、ユトレヒトに子供の頃から現在まで住んでおり、そこで彼の音楽の旅路は始まった。ジャズ、ソウル、ブルース、そしてファンクから影響を受け、ピアノを弾くようになった。すぐに才能が現れ始め、いくつかのバンドに参加、ユトレヒトで有名なクラブPoemaでの”Magnetronik”を共同オーガナイズするまでになった。

DJセットに加え、Davidの野性的な音楽精神は、ライブパフォーマンスに強く現れるようになった。それは完全に圧倒されるものだと表現できるだろう。アナログシンセ、ドラムコンピューター、マシーン、コントローラーなどの複雑な彼のセットアップは、一目見るだけで驚異的である。Davidの尽きる事のないエネルギーがこれに合わさると、一見親しみやすい機材フリークが、数少ないアーティストだけができる、クラウドを完全にコントロールし、パーフェクトな最高の場所へと導くということを成し遂げてしまうのだ。それは、Davidにとって最も大切なことが、彼の目の前にいるクラウドとのつながりを長く保つことであるからだ。そしてそのつながりは、最後のビートが鳴り終わった後でも長くそこに残るものである。

Davidの熱心な活動は、Café d’Anvers、Studio 80、Paradigm、Basis、Paradisoなどでの多くのギグで知られ、称賛されてきた。その最も大きなものが、Orlando VoornのレーベルNightTripperで予定されているリリースである。2015年は、DJプレイ、そしてライブパフォーマンスとともに、ダンスフロアを打ち抜くに違いない才気あふれるピークタイムトラックのリリースに専念している。

David Hülsken has positioned himself at the cutting edge of today’s rapidly evolving House and Techno scene. His unique, progressively-minded dance floor sound have always resulted in tracks with an out of the box feeling and a massive groove element.

David, originally from Bussum, lives in Utrecht where his musical journey began at a young age. Inspired by Jazz, Soul, Blues and Funk, he began to play the piano. He soon discovered his talent; he joined several bands and co-organized the infamous “Magnetronik” parties at club Poema in Utrecht.

Besides his DJ sets, David’s wild musical heart really starts to show in his live performances, which can be described as utterly mind blowing. His intricate set-up of analog synths, drum computers, machines and controllers are breathtaking just to look at. This combined with David’s inexhaustible energy, the affable gearhead can take up complete control of a crowd, taking them to that perfect sweet spot like few artists can. It's because the most important thing for David Hülsken is to create a lasting connection with the crowd in front of him, one that lingers long after the last beat has been played.

David’s hard work has been recognised and rewarded with several gigs at Café d’Anvers, Studio 80, Paradigm, Basis, Paradiso and many more. On top of this there is an upcoming release planned on Orlando Voorn’s label NightTripper. 2015 will be dedicated to the release of some truly discerning peak timers that are bound to destroy more than a few dance floors, along with DJ- and live performances.
