This work is an ambient jazz album led by a drummer Keisuke Kishi. It is mainly composed of a saxophone quartet and a piano trio.
The 2nd Album Midpoint Cafe embodies the transformative journey Keisuke Kishi and his wife embarked on, traversing from New York to California, encapsulating encounters with the diverse landscapes and people of America. From the poignant encounter with a homeless Native American man in ‘We saw him’ to the awe-inspiring vistas of Utah and Arizona detailed in ‘Inside Utah,’ each song delves into the dichotomy of light and darkness within the American experience. As we stand at the symbolic midpoint of Route 66, this album serves as a reflection on our quest for connection and understanding amidst the vast expanse of the American landscape.
