Dub-Stuy is a Brooklyn-based collective representing sound system culture for the 21st century. Through its affiliated label, parties and other multi-faceted projects, Dub-Stuy has been a driving force behind a steady sound system and dub renaissance in New York City and North America In 2018 the collective expanded their sound and reach internationally. Following the release of their single " Zapatillas" featuring Senior Wilson , they embarked on an extensive Summer tour in Europe, playing major festivals such as Reggae Sun Ska, Seasplash, Summer Vibration and One Love among others. In September they hosted their own Boat Party at Outlook Festival featuring a star-studded lineup headlined by OBF feat. Shanti D and Sr Wilson. Since 2012, the Dub-Stuy label has grown into a globally recognized home for sound system music, connecting old and new by taking inspiration from Jamaican dub, as well as hip-hop and contemporary bass music. The roster represents this breadth: bass-heavy modern touches from DJ Madd and Dubamine, classic flavours courtesy of Bukkha and Von D , and forward-thinking beats from Moresounds and Ras G . Alongside regular releases from label artists, Dub-Stuy's own Riddim Series has been successful in reimagining dancehall reggae with vocalists from around the world. In New York the collective has been stringing up its hand-crafted sound system in streets and venues across the five boroughs for club nights, block parties and festival stages. Past guests have included Channel One, Iration Steppas, Mungo's Hi-Fi , OBF , Dubkasm , Om Unit and Gorgon Sound , and collaborations have included Red Bull Music Academy, Dia: Beacon, Brooklyn Museum and more. Away from home, the crew's selectors, Q-Mastah, 187 Sound and Lo have taken the Dub-Stuy vision and sound to parties and festivals around the world. Dub-Stuy's live performances are dynamic, combining eclectic DJ sets with vocal performances and guest appearances from MCs affiliated with the label. Expect to hear tunes from the label's catalog mixed in with the crew's extensive collection of original dubplate productions that will be sure to rattle your walls!
