We had the chance to interview Harrison who flew all the way from the UK for his debut of the Harrison show in Japan.
He shared his perspectives of how music shaped his life as an artist and what he hopes to accomplish within the future.
Inspiring episodes and his interesting take on infusing Rock and Roll and EDM take a look at what music is to Harrison.

First of all, congratulations on bringing the Harrison show to Tokyo! How did this happen and what do you wish to bring your fans in Japan?
Thank you, its an honor to be invited to play in Tokyo! I’m trying to get around as much as I can and to places where people are expecting to see me and Tokyo fits in to be part of this Asia tour I’m currently doing I want it to be the best Friday night out that everyone’s had all year! I am very excited and hoping to connect with many of you!

Speaking of touring, you’ve traveled all over the world! Tell us the best music festival you’ve played at and your favorite club in the world and why.
The best music festival I played was probably H20 festival in South Africa. Absolutely amazing energy and what an experience, this is also where Juicy M and myself performed LA girls for the first time.

My favorite club would either be Ministry of Sound in London, its always nice to play at home as well but at the same time do what I love. Or it would be Myst in Taiwan, what an amazing club and I just am amazed at how amazing and different all clubs all over the world are, it makes every gig/show special and different.

You were born and raised in the UK. Did any specific clubs or music festivals inspire you on choosing your career path in the music industry?
Yeah so you see the biggest festivals, like Tomorrowland and Ultra and its just a dream and having been to Tomorrowland and watched some of my friends perform it gives me goosebumps and just reassures me that this is a goal and a career I want to pursue for the rest of my life.

Your roster of work shows how you are a multi-talented artist working as both a producer and a vocalist. How did you end up having two successful careers and what music influences did you have?
Yes, well it all started with the singing and then when my vocal made it onto some electronic tracks and that’s when I started doing more EDM stuff and my career switched from pop to electronic. When having my vocal in the industry, I became very fascinated by the idea of DJing and being a live performer.
My musical influences include Eminem and Noel Gallagher.

With the festival season coming up, it’s the time of playlists. Give us your 3 buzzing go-to tracks.
Love playing my tracks “The Wave” and “Sit Down” for festival season for sure, and a bootleg which I made of “The real slim shady” by Eminem- look out for these!

You’ve collaborated with big names of the industry such as Hardwell & Steve Aoki, what has been your favorite project so far and who would you like to collaborate in the future?
They have all been really great, I think the tracks which have become huge in the industry are “Ain’t a Party”, “Sally” and “The Wave”. But I enjoyed collaborating with everyone, it was a true honor!

In the future a collab with Calvin Harris, would be unreal – the dream!

In past interviews you’ve mentioned that rock and roll has been a big passion for you. How has that influenced your sound?

Yes, so all my tracks are inspired by a guitar, and every track I make it always starts out as a rock or pop track and then from that it gets changed into an electronic track. My true passion is with rock and roll music and I’m glad I can show my edge and incorporate that into electronic music!

At what moment was it that you felt you had ‘made it’ in terms of accomplishment in this industry?
I think my first noticeable and one of my biggest accomplishments was “Ain’t A Party” with David Guetta. Without this track and the exposure, I believe that things would have probably gone down a different musical route (rock and roll, pop etc). Now that LA girls is out and its my first official Harrison track (my name first in production), it is also a major step.

You mentioned in a previous interview that Eminem was one of your largest inspirations. In what way did he inspire you and are there any hip hop artists you would like to collaborate with?
I grew up listening to him and was always just inspired how he could write his lyrics and the way he formatted all his tracks, and he’s stayed in the industry for a very long time which is pretty cool.

Balancing both a life as a vocalist, producer and world-touring artist already seems challenging but are there other projects or goals you would like to accomplish in the future?
I would love to do more charity work in the countries that I am fortunate enough to visit and then donate some of my fees.
