World-renowned "sunset on the beach" themed CORONA SUNSETS FESTIVAL returns to Okinawa's Chura Sun Beach on Saturday July 2nd and Sunday July 3rd. Last years event was wildly popular and we're happy to announce that the general tickets are on sale for this year's now.
Corona Sunsets Festival got it's start on the open white sandy beach's of Spain's Ibiza in 2014. Seeking to draw a strong distinction between other festivals the event gained popularity by skillfully mastering the art of blending great music to the backdrop of the sunset. The event took off like wildfire and quickly expanded to England, Canada, Mexico and Australia.
In September of 2015 it reached Japan's shores bringing the likes of Jose Padilla, Mark Farina, and Breakbot & Irfane as well as performances from a roster distinguished local talent. Even though it was only it's first year the festival managed to attract over 7000 people. Continuing on from last year this year's is scheduled for "Chura Sun Beach Special Outdoor Music Stage" in Okinawa's Tomigusuku City.
Claptone and PillowTalk were announced in the first lineup on March 1st, followed by Donavon Frankenreiter and MOODYMANN on the April 6th second lineup. The April 22nd 3rd lineup added DaM-Funk and Dai Hirai with many others.
One of Japanese most famous and respected singers UA, will deliver a special performance. We expect her powerful voice and melodies to blend with this resort festival environment perfectly. It's been 20 years since Laid Back has visited Japan and we look forward to the unit bringing back "White Horse" and other dance classics for the 80s and 90s. Chicago dance music producer Felix Da Housecat should lay down great Chicago-style house music and some of his award winning dance music tracks.
