2020年1月6日（現地時間5日）に第77回ゴールデン・グローブ賞の授賞式がアメリカ・ロサンゼルスのビバリービルトン・ホテルで行われ、Quentin Tarantino（クエンティン・タランティーノ）監督の最新作『Once Upon a Time in Hollywood（ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム・イン・ハリウッド）』が作品賞（コメディー/ミュージカル）、助演男優賞、脚本賞の最多3部門で受賞した。

続いて2部門を受賞したのが『1917（1917 命をかけた伝令）』『JOKER（ジョーカー）』『Rocketman（ロケットマン）』の3作品で、『1917』は作品賞（ドラマ）と監督賞、『JOKER』は主演男優賞（ドラマ）と音楽賞、『Rocketman』は主演男優賞（コメディー/ミュージカル）と歌曲賞を受賞した。
