Already spinning the heads of purists Anton Zap, Delano Smith and Giles Smith, Brawther is one of the most forthright talents to emerge onto the French electronic scene in recent times. Taking his cues from the heads that have stayed true to the original ideas of house - from Larry Heard to Nottingham's DIY collective - the principles of forward thinking yet timeless dance floor adventures run deep in him.
A true devotee to the endless possibilities of dance floor music and looking to put his own stamp on the genre, the young Parisian can also call upon his Izmo alias to expand his impact. Strongly influenced by the sound of Warp and ambient electronica emerging from Germany & England, the Frenchman's first productions began emerging at age 15. Nearly a decade later he is an accomplished DJ and producer after absorbing as much of the true garage and deep house from the UK, Chicago, Detroit and New Jersey as well as his native France.
In 2007 the Parisian released his first 12" on French label 9TS records, receiving positive response, support and plays by legendary Tony Humphries. Disguised as a tribute to Smack Productions , the "Where is Eddie" E.P. touched people from across scenes, with deep house to UK garage heads feeling the timeless agenda of the forceful beats. This was just the first piece in an ever evolving mission to hone his skills as both a producer and DJ representing to true underground heads.
Able to produce instinctive house music with the distinct electronic edge of heroes such as Chez Damier as Brawther, or the lush organic musical styling of the Early Night Lp in his Izmo guise, the contrasts between his aliases highlight the talent at the young Parisian's disposal. In 2009 Brawther's Asteroids and Stardust EP, on Damier's Balance Alliance made waves in underground circles, culminating with a storming set at the legendary Peg's tenth birthday party in London.
With an uncompromising attitude and the skills backed up in some of the hottest underground records of the past few years, Brawther's natural ability in both the studio and behind the decks is already starting to bear fruit. The care and attention that goes into a Brawther set or production signals him as a unique talent, ready to bring it to the rest of the world.
