Gianluca Vacchi was born in Bologna, where he still lives, on August 5, 1967. Spending his winter holidays in Cortina, he began skiing at the age of four, driven by his mother. At seven he won the first races establishing himself as one of the greatest Italian promises in the discipline. Hence his definitive transfer to Cortina, and it’s there that up to the eighteen years he carried on his well-started sporting career. At the age of sixteen he could already boast a respectable list of achievements, such as the victory of the Italian giant slalom championships, the first place at the Youth Games and the seventh place at the School World Championships.
At the age of 17 he felt the need to change his life, driven by the desire to excel in the business world like his father. He left the world of skiing and came back to Bologna, where he finished his studies and started at university. He then graduated in Economics and Business.
