Lance Z?us Lasheras began his career in entertainment at an early age. Studying in both the Vancouver Film School and the University of British Columbia, he immediately began focusing his talents into creative endeavors. For several years he worked on numerous television series, directed several award winning films, and even developed software for MacAddict magazine. At UBC he met Justin Kim, a fellow musical enthusiast who had many years of classical training at academies across Vancouver. Together they combined their love for high energy performances into a musical duo.
With long standing ties to numerous forms of music, D2 began their story in the shores of Vancouver. There they began composing new music while touring various venues around the city. Quickly they developed a reputation for not only music but performance. Their demo’s went from being local experiences to worldwide sensations. Their first official disc The Trifecta produced with local artist Self was heard from B.C.’s Celebrities to China’s Baby Face. After a handful of singles were released and tours across the province afterwards, they were invited to DJ the exclusive Ferry Corsten after-party. Shortly thereafter they were opening for acts as diverse as Mizz, John Askew, Phynn, Sean Walsh, and Fedde Le Grand. Looking to expand their musical journey, the duo traveled to the shores of Tokyo.
In Japan, D2 were met with critical success. Performing to all corners of the diverse city, they held residencies Tokyo’s most prestigious venues. In their first months there they landing a contract with G-Moloch and Max International Records to produce original music. Their first release Dr.Fish’s Great Tsunami became an instant classic to the house and trance crowds alike. Their two title tracks Dave and Genesis received regular airtime on Tokyo radio stations. Soon the pair performed with Marcus Schulz at ageHa, the largest club in the country. They also began a regular residency in Atom in Shibuya.
Now the pair are touring between the two continents. Playing in both North America and Japan on a regular basis. Their new productions are being compiled onto a full album to be released in 2009.
