Rosie Romero is now one of UK’s fastest growing stars in the DJ world.
She is relevant to a plethora of the UK’s main clubbing institutes including Air, Pacha, Pukka Up, Ministry of Sound, Honey Club, Area 51, In Bed With Space, Gatecrasher, Miss Moneypennys and Sankeys. Her tour diary is busting at the seams having already played in 25 different countries and having just returned from a successful Far East Tour, so successful that she is to return for another tour in November. After securing a bi monthly residency for Club Space in Warsaw, Poland, she now has Australia, US, Canada and South America on the horizon with bookings penciled in for late 2010/early 2011.
Rosie’s passion for making music has been present from an early age. Her first love of classical composition saw her develop her piano playing skills, making Grade 6 by the time she hit high school. This musical grounding has only benefited Rosie being a recording artist with leading labels Blackhole, 303 Lovers, Omnis Recordings, Manchester Underground Music and the heavily supported Mad Hatter Recordings has ensured a wider reach and audience for the new material.
With her production and remix work pushing her global status up even higher and after her gorgeous remix of Zoo Brazil ‘You Can Have It All’, Blackhole’s sister label Avanti snapped up ‘Guru’ which is currently at the top of Avanti’s downloads on Beatport. She was asked to contribute to next Zoo Brazil release ‘There is Hope’ and she hasn’t disappointed with a massive rework. This will be followed up with an underground Tech House collaboration ‘AfroDrum’ with Kyfu as her second release for the label.
Watch out for the avalanche of tracks from this busy lady over the coming months. Remixes for the likes of Spektre, Paul Thomas & Sonny Wharton, Kevin Andrews (Hoxton Whores), Lance Blaise and with exciting collaborations with Sandy Rivera, Jorgensen, Juan Kidd, Hauswerks and JayKay, Rosie is hot property and definitely moving in all the right circles!
There is no stopping one of the leading member of the ‘Nu-Breed’. She has gone from strength to strength from where she began honing her trade as a DJ at the legendary ‘Sankeys’. The RR sound has come along way, the constant gigging and production has morphed her unmistakable sound into an underground but accessible blend of Tech House, Techno and House. Across her DJ performances, studio productions, the combined aural/visual delight, Rosie Romero is fast becoming one of the scenes leading artists.
