Yoichi Hayashi's solo project, <DO SHOCK BOOZE>, mainly combines techno, bass, and tribal elements in a trancy fusion that transports us to an ecstatic world with no boundaries. In parallel, we also explore more experimental music, focusing on ambient, downtempo, and environmental music.
In 2010, he launched his own electronic music label, TOTEM TRAXXX, as the source of his identity, and has since been working with the renowned German label Kompakt, Traum Schallplatten, and Dense & Pika (UK)'s Kneaded Pains, among others, He has released works on important labels in Japan and abroad, including Traum Schallplatten under the prestigious German label Kompakt, Dense & Pika (UK)'s Kneaded Pains, J.A.K.A.M.'s Crosspoint, and many others.
He has performed at clubs, DJ bars, and live houses around Tokyo, as well as at some of Japan's leading outdoor festivals such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, Re:birth, Meeting Point Festival, and Brightness, and has traveled abroad.
In addition, under the name <Yoichi Hayashi> he has been active in a wide range of fields, including music production for fashion shows, sound design for the environment, and providing music for illuminations in various locations. In 2018, he joined the core members of the long-established outdoor festival “Global Ark” and launched a newly-derived music label, Global Ark Recordings.
He also organizes the party series “MEiYOU” at various clubs in Tokyo, which aims for an encounter between electronic tribal dance, bass music flavors, and deep techno, and is also responsible for the visual direction of the labels, releases, and parties involved in the series, which is essential for the communication of information. He is also passionate about the design aspect of his work.
Currently, he spends his days updating his live sets to incorporate hybrid creativity into his own style of DJ performance, providing a freer and more dynamic experience, and creating music.
