DAVE TWOMEY's first gig was at Lakota in Bristol in 1998 as the paint was still drying after a 1 year refit of the infamous West country club. After a few years cutting his teeth in the student club scene in 2002 he won Muzik magazine's monthly mixing competition Bedroom Bedlam & with new confidence to change direction he moved Japan-wards. During his 8 year stay he held various residencies or his own parties at Yellow, Air, Womb, Colors Studio & Warehouse702 injecting a dose of the underground into the Tokyo scene; he managed Number 11 'Best DJ' for Loud magazine in 2004 & was resident for Global Underground in Tokyo amongst others. His 20's based in Tokyo also saw early tours to South America, Europe, South East Asia & more ...
A keen & prolific event organiser as well as DJ his events have been he says a challenging labour of love over the years and his current focus MARIANA - deep, trippy & liquid techno events inspired by the Mariana Trench & its fearsome creatures - has been picking up momentum in a scene saturated by minimal and tech house. Early Tokyo events saw his MYM stable booking the likes of Falko Brocksieper, Oliver Hacke, Andrea Ferlin, Mark Henning, Reynold & Jeff Milligan, plus more recently for MARIANA / MARIANA DUB SESSIONS / MARIANA LIMITED the likes of Ben Klock, Kirk Degiorgio, Peter Van Hoesen, Kassem Mosse, Mike Parker, Delta Funktionen & MLZ among others.
Running since its Samurai.FM' launch, Dave's MYM RADIO show has featured the likes of Cobblestone Jazz, Peter Van Hoesen, DJ Nobu, Alex Smoke, Ryan Elliott, Dartrixx (aka Fumiya Tanaka & Radiq) & many many more over the years though currently on sabbatical. The MARIANA DUB SESSIONS podcast continues to spread its tentacles, originally started as an outlet for mixes of a deeper vein as well as Mariana residents and guest DJ sets (http://marianadubsessions.podomatic.com).
Dave is currently living in the UK and focusing on Tr nch production & podcasts. Dave's debut 12-inch under that alias is a collaboration with Okinawan IORI on Peter Van Hoesen's TIME TO EXPRESS. Described as 'mesmerising' with good reviews from the likes of Richard Brophy (DJ Mag), Max Bacharach (Resident Adviser), plus support by Horizontal Ground's AnD, Chris Liebing & Konrad Black among others.

Pushing and pulling the dubby, 4am, bass-heavy, spacey, trippy warehouse-beginnings and influence of Berlin, Detroit & the UK, the Tr nch Mariana Dub Sessions DJ sets explore techno since its inception - pulsating, throbbing soundscapes also that mirror the darkness & mystery of the the deepest place on earth, the Mariana trench in the Pacific Ocean. it is a deep, ephemeral, liquid session of techno drawing on a deep love of electronic music, vinyl & a 12 year DJ career which has seen him pass through Russia, Bulgaria, Argentina, China, Chile, Germany, Paraguay, Brasil & more.
The Tr nch DJ set represents the sound of MARIANA, a currently Japan-based deep techno event project.
