Nick Edges (Stereophonic)

From his raw years of DJing in the UK, and now in Japan, his desire to create something new has lead to quite a ride for Nick Edges. A multi-talented artist with a keen eye for photography, design and music, his drive, vision, and passion for innovation has seen his event company Stereophonic produce some of the most unique and exciting parties on the Nagoya music scene. His deep love of quality dance music and his dramatic flair behind the decks have made him one of Nagoya's most recognizable DJs.

Born in England, Nick grew-up when the underground scene reached a critical mass - raves were being shut down left right and center and the club boom took off. This is where he found his love for the music, spending his youth on a keen diet of clubbing and raving.
Years later, he decided to see the world and found his new home in Japan. He spent his first 5 years running one of the main clubs in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, which fueled his passion for dance music and allowed him to hone his DJ skills as he played 6+ hour sets to hundreds of party goers every weekend.

With a solid reputation behind him, he later moved to Nagoya where he met another keen-minded DJ/Promoter, Babur Moghul. The two joined forces to create the event and promotion group Stereophonic. Since its beginning in 2007 the group has taken the city by storm and continues to produce some of the most outrageous nights in the scene, including the infamous 5 venue extravaganza that is “The Absolute Halloween”, which saw over 1600 patrons in 2011.

Nick has regularly played around central Japan, ranging from NYE parties in the Northern Alps of Nagano, to major clubs all over Nagoya. He has performed at brand events such as Nagoya's Armani Exchange Shop Grand Opening After Party, and been selected by PIONEER DJ to showcase their RMX-1000 Remix Unit, as well as spinning alongside international and domestic artists such as Danny Howells, Born to Funk, Ko Kimura, DJ Ogawa and Darren Emerson.

He also played on the white island of Ibiza guesting at the Koolwaters pool party, and spinning alongside Deepgroove and Marc Vedo at the 5,000 capacity club Eden. This has been the highlight of his career to date, and a memory that drives him to share his love for the music even more.

With over 12 years of experience, Nick is a highly in demand DJ that captivates the crowd with his unique style of funk'ed up house rhythms and deep vibey lounge sets. You can find him playing at his monthly residencies at Club Mago for SMASH, and Amateras Lounge for Girls House, as well as his notorious Stereophonic parties.
