Jon Connor is Traffikin Beatz. His face half shaded by his underground London roots, he’s the guy you come to to be slipped that shiny little round disc under the table that will bring wild bursts of color out of the darkness of your life. Traffikin Beatz sends tremors from its core with deep dark Drum & Bass, DubStep, Dub House and Grime. But just as you settle in to these classics forms, Jon Connor takes you further, showing you that even in the dark conflicting moods of these underground genres there exists a gambit of emotions and colors.
The Traffikin Beatz sound is accessibly personal without pulling any punches. Jon Connor achieves this balance through over a decade of experience as a DJ playing in local bars, clubs, illegal raves, and pirate radio stations across England, Australia and Japan. His passion lies in his live, face to face gigs where he balances a discourse between the mood of the crowd and the beats he plays. It is this subtle back and forth that you find so alluring in his mixtape series Judgement Day.
Jon Connor is currently working on his own Traffikin Beatz EP set to be out this Winter. He plans to bring his uniquely emotive un-sugarcoated sound to a broader audience to prove that Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Grime can be more than expressions of moody energy.
Jon Connor spends his time between gigs, radio, collaborating with other DJ’s and producing tracks. He is currently a resident at the club nights promoted by the Japan based crews MUL and AUN.
