"The founder of Rhythmic Freedom"
"The member of Swank Society"
"The soul music selector"
Here's a short introduction about Them...,
Nu Skool collector of Soul music(after 1990s), deejay(internet is main venue, occasionally in the club) and the founder of Rhythmic Freedom from 2002. Wholly devoted the life to what-we-call Modern Soul from 1970s and 80s especially, but play more mellow sounds like two-step and slow ballad as well.
More a bit longer biography about myself...,
I began to buy imported records about 1991, purchasing Hip Hop and House newies played on the floor at that time. After spending the last year of my teens with those club hits, I came to be interested in old music like Disco, Funk and Soul while finding out original tunes and the sample source. Since then I had been buying new releases for a year or so alongside old vinyls, but, around 1993, I set my main target to vintage 45s, 12s and LPs of soulful music from good old times. In those days, I was collecting not only dance sound but also downtempo to ballad of 1970s and 80s stuff from coast to coast. And I used to make tapes for myself whenever I got new oldies and passed it to my close friend regularly. From 1992 to 1997, while going to university, I used to work for the imported vinyl stop specialized in vintage Soul, Funk and Disco, it had widen my knowledge and given me many informations. After I graduated from the university and became to work for the company, I kept a little distance from the circle of Japanese scene for a while. But my desire to learn about British Modern Soul scene in the 1980s was getting much stronger than before. Because I had been having an undercurrent of doubt in my mind like this, why never club deejays play old 45rpm records, why never Soul music collectors play their collections to others? Certainly some reasons hit me... but still... Why, WHy and WHY?! Then I started making the shows with my friends and sending it through our website Rhythmic Freedom for download listeners in 2004 and notified them on some forums. Thanks to internet, I gained good reactions not few from worldwide because of these sites including Myspace also and came to be known as the place of dispatch of Modern Soul in Japan. From 2007, after an interval of 15 years in fact, I begin to buy House newies again and mixing it with my old Modern Soul records to this day. The music that I play is not mine but someone's recordings, however, the way of my mix is not the one having borrowed from someone, it's just my way of music selection. Now I realize that it is my mission to mix any style of soulful dance music by my vinyls from the past to the present selected well. While running Rhythmic Freedom, I'm doing deejay every several months as a semi-member of Soul Honpo been managed by my good friend Daijiro. Also me and Daijiro united the Death Match team in 2006, and are broadcasting a three hours live show on the third Sunday every month. And yes, now I have the regular program at Swank Society radio on every Friday. It's a two hours mix show, focusing on whole spectrum of dance music from oldies to newies.
...That's all at the moment.
