Multi-platinum-selling BRIT-nominated hitmaker Jonas Blue has taken the music industry by storm. His cleverly crafted dance/pop sensibilities have received critical acclaim, and now the UK’s biggest global breakthrough artist is ready to further build on his monumental success.
Jonas’ debut single ‘Fast Car’ featured the incredible vocal talents of Dakota and quickly became a certified global smash. His reimagining of the Tracey Chapman classic became the biggest selling single globally from a British debut artist in 2016. The single reached #2 in the UK Official Singles Chart and subsequently stayed in the charts for 40 consecutive weeks. Elsewhere, the track peaked at #1 on the iTunes chart in numerous countries including the UK, Germany, Sweden and Australia. ‘Fast Car’ also achieved multi-platinum, platinum and gold status in over 20 territories. Furthermore, Jonas’ debut effort received two coveted BRIT nominations (‘British Single’ and ‘British Artist Video of The Year’).
His second single, ‘Perfect Strangers’ featured rising singer/songwriter JP Cooper. The summer anthem peaked at #2 on the UK Official Singles Chart and went on to receive multi-platinum, platinum and gold statuses across Europe, Australia and North America. Jonas rounded off 2016 with his third single ‘By Your Side’ featuring British vocalist RAYE, which was certified gold in the UK.
In May 2017 Jonas revealed his fourth single, ‘Mama’ featuring Australian singer and viral phenomenon William Singe. After coming up with the track’s name while on tour in America, Jonas spent time in the studio writing ‘Mama’ with Ed Drewett (One Direction, Olly Murs, Little Mix) and Sam Romans (AlunaGeorge, Birdy, Alicia Keys). The track soon became a huge worldwide hit and peaked at #4 in the UK singles chart. Having sold over 1.5 million adjusted units globally, and achieving Platinum status in Australia and Sweden, ‘Mama’ has become one of the biggest summer anthems of 2017.
Across his four singles, Jonas has displayed a remarkable flair for discovering hot new talent to collaborate with. After working with JP Cooper on ‘Perfect Strangers’ and RAYE on ‘By Your Side’, both artists have since gone on to receive Top 10 chart successes.
In addition to this, the British producer recently released his highly anticipated debut compilation album, ‘Electronic Nature - The Mix 2017.’ Handpicking his favourite tracks of the moment, Jonas Blue compiled a release of popular remixes and massive hits on the 3CD/digital bundle, with tracks from the likes of Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo, Martin Solveig, Galantis, Disciples, and Disclosure.
The compilation album is an introduction to Jonas’ latest endeavour, ‘Electronic Nature’, with Jonas explaining: “I’m so proud to launch my new project Electronic Nature with this special album. It’s something that you're going to be hearing a lot more about in the coming months in association with my projects. There's going to be special events and a radio show and lots more. The concept and vision of Electronic Nature is to give my fans a fully immersive sensory experience of music, visuals and more...”
As equally comfortable with remixing as creating original productions, he recently lent his hand to the massive Zedd production ‘Stay’ ft Alessia Cara. With the original already a certified hit, Jonas laced the track with his signature melodic sound to create a fresh and addictive remix which is attracting huge amounts of radio play worldwide.
Away from the charts, Jonas has been touring relentlessly around the world. In 2016, he made numerous festival appearances, including Tomorrowland, V Festival and Lollapalooza Berlin to name a few. In May 2017, he embarked on a debut European tour, performing headline shows in Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris and London. He is also currently in the midst of a hectic summer schedule which includes performances at We Are FSTVL, the Isle of Wight
Festival, Tomorrowland, SW4, and V Festival. The melodic hitmaker will also appear at We The Fest and Sunny Side Up Festival in Indonesia.
Additionally, Jonas is back in Ibiza this summer, playing a series of dates around the island, including at highly-anticipated, newly launched club, Hï Ibiza. He is also supporting David Guetta’s ‘Big’ Residency at Ushuaia, and the French superstar’s ‘F*** Me I’m Famous’ nights at Pacha.
Overall, Jonas’ records have hit more than 2 billion Spotify streams. In 2016 he sold more singles in the UK than the likes of Clean Bandit, Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs and Zayn Malik. He was also the only artist to have two songs included on MTV’s global list of most played videos in 2016. Jonas was also announced as the VEVO LIFT Artist of 2017, following in the footsteps of Sam Smith, James Bay, Years and Years and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man.
Jonas’ rapid rise into the mainstream has allowed the DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist to establish himself as one of the most talented and well-rounded artists to come out of the UK in recent times. Armed with these monumental achievements, there is plenty of excitement surrounding Jonas Blue and what’s on the horizon for the British breakthrough artist.
