December 31, 2002. On this day in Shin-Kiba, Tokyo, Japan's largest multi-purpose entertainment space "Studio Coast" was born. The event / club brand that launched there is known as "ageHa"—the very reason for Studio Coast's existence.
The massive main floor was fitted with two sound systems, each with its own unique characteristics: the fully custom Octagon speakers, the venue's very symbol, and the L-ACOUSTICS V-DOSC, also used for live concerts. The bars and VIP areas were capable of serving thousands. And the multiple outdoor floors made use of the liberating bay area location, featuring a pool, park, and tent. Indeed, the entire facility was one of a kind, offering a doorway into the extraordinary. World-class DJs, artists, and performers of all genres gathered here time and again, adding to ageHa's chronicle of legendary nights.
January 30th, 2022. On the venue's twentieth year in business, the contract for the land upon which Studio Coast stood—expired. And so, amidst many a heavy heart, the Shin-Kiba location closed its doors permanently.
The total party-goers who have entered ageHa's halls number over 3 million. The wonder and thrill etched in these clubbers' memory is a living legacy of the dance music scene. In order to pass on this legacy—this culture—to the next generation, ageHa will be expanding its horizons to new projects, both in and outside of Japan.
