September 3rd was a memorable day when Sensation made its second debut performance in Japan.
Hailing the INNERSPACE theme this year, the Sensation crew took participants on a spiritual journey with an all-white dresscode.

While all the pumping groovy music and elegance was in full lights on the stage we'd like to give our iFLYER readers a peek into what was going on backstage.

Right after his set, Steve Angello kindly held a Meet N Greet event at the Press Area. A few lucky winners who entered the contest with their ticket purchase all had an intimate time with Steve backstage taking photos and shaking hands.

Showing so much respect to his fans, we also had the chance to sit down with Steve for him to share his thoughts on his music making. Take a look.

You had an amazing set today at Sensation Innerspace during one of the festival's most prominent themes. You added some classic tracks to your set as well as your new ones. Which track do you like playing the most during your sets?

It's definitely hard to choose one but I'd say there is something I follow to during my sets. I believe the intro and the outro are the most important parts to a set. It's always interesting to see how you can open a set with a track from a new album and bring the kids on a journey with me.

You've also done a lot outside of the music scene such as art installations and fashion design. Where do you draw your inspiration from for all these multiple projects?

Life per se.

For me, I wear clothes and I’m living in a world where each individual wants to live a lifestyle. On the way we all want to adapt to something new or eat something up that intrigues us so much. I feel like there is so much to it. Also most of the time, the way I grew up, I was listening to Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Prodigy and so much more. In this way, for instance, when Michael Jackson dropped an album, literally the whole world was into the album. It was these pop up shows, merchandise, installations and so much more.

I feel that got lost in the past decade. It’s like they don’t care anymore. They just upload it to Soundcloud and boom it’s there. For me it’s really important to show my respect to what I grew up listening to by trying to at least keep holding on to that.

You've mentioned in a previous interview that you really like the Japanese culture. What is it specifically that catches your mind?

I mean on the country side it’s a very special country. People really have respect for each other. It’s like a domino. That’s really interesting for me because in some countries the person picking up the trash isn’t equally important as the one who is throwing it away. But in Japan it’s the other way, both parties are as equal and as important. The person picking up the trash understands how important it is. For me it’s a lot to see. I feel Europe and America can learn a lot from this respect culture Japan holds within.

In terms of the music scene, how do you feel about the Japanese crowd?

It's great. They are all really passionate and dedicated. They surrender to the show every time you see them.

There were a lot of kids with flags and T-shirts and banners too. It’s one of the best crowds in the world so it’s just great to see them and they are really nice as well. Great fans.

Before we wrap up, one last question. You also manage Size Records. Do you have any exciting news?

I have a lot but I can’t share it. What I can say is that it’s gonna be really intense the last five months at the end of the year. Bigger projects and albums will be coming up so stay tuned.

In that case, can you spill some beans on your upcoming artist that is signed to Size?

I have these artists called Highly Sedated.
They are more like mature dance music and the group as a collective is just amazing. It's consisted of one Art Director, one Photographer, two Vocalists and a Producer, They’ve created this collective and it's really interesting. The reason I say this is that they are so passionate and they do it straight from the heart which is rare these days. I’m there to support them in different ways including the marketing.
