After massive success touring with Radio Soulwax and taking up his annual summer residency at the legendary We Love nights at Space in Ibiza, Henry Smithson a.k.a Riton, lands in Japan for his London Calling debut. Riton's (pronounced Reeton) career in dance music began in 1990s dance culture and the long trips to the Renaissance raves prompting him to launch his own promotions closer to his home in Newcastle. The success of the club led to signing to Grand Central records, the first non hip-hop act to sign to the label, and an outlet for his solo material as Riton.
As a DJ, Riton regularly plays venues including Fabric, Glastonbury, The End and The Warehouse Project in Manchester (including being a regular at Bugged Out) in the UK, Panorama Bar and Weekend in Berlin, The Rex and Triptyque in Paris and his We Love Space Ibiza residency, which he still has today. This is a man in demand. Riton DJs by himself, and also together with Ben Rhymer from the Fat Truckers as the Gucci Soundystem, who regularly rock London with their blend of ‘tough electro, acid house, bits of rock and digital ragga’.
