I’ve been collecting records since I was about 12 and was inspired by the likes of Mastermind, Rapattack, Les Adams and Froggy, who all mixed in such a way that just blew me away and got me hooked on underground dance music. I started mixing by using a tape deck and a belt drive turntable and learnt to mix and scratch my tunes like that, by pushing the tape and phono buttons in at the same time. This is something I do not recommend, as I had to get my Dad’s amp repaired far too many times. I got to try out my newfound skills at the tender young of 13, when I was at one of my elder sister’s friend’s party and the Dj had to go home
and get another crate of records. He said to me, “It’s all yours, shouldn’t be too long….” After playing for a about three hours, I realised I could do the things my idols did and the things I did at home very easily with two turntables and I could also make people dance. I’d got the bug!
Since then I have played at many events world wide watching the scene change, being part of the original house explosion in the UK, playing at the groundbreaking raves like Sunrise, Energy and Biology to name but a few.
